Research
An integral part of TCPB and CPAT is funding research that is useful, and pertinent to Texas corn producers' operations. Texas Corn Producers funds a variety of research. Here you will find research results and related information.
Varieties and Breeding
Each year TCPB publishes the Variety Performace Results from Texas AgriLife Research in the High Plains Journal. You can view this book here online or contact our office for us to mail you a copy.

Drought- and heat-tolerant short-season hybrids for corn production in the Texas High Plains
Irrigation is the largest input factor in economically feasible corn production within the Texas High Plains. Genetic strategies to reduce the irrigation requirements may include improving drought and heat tolerance, increasing yield and water use efficiency, and developing shorter-season hybrids. This research project is designed to identify short-season hybrids and develop new germplasm that can yield well under hot weather and under limited irrigation condition.
